About Us
We met in the fall of 2005 at Valparaiso University. In January 2006, we began dating when Tom took Sarah to Pestos, a restaurant located near Valparaiso University. Enchanted by his charm and wit, Sarah was wowed from the beginning. Likewise was Tom. He had never seen such intelligence and natural beauty. Both knew that it was meant to be from the start.
Curiosity with one another that was initially piqued by engrossing conversation and our aspirations and life-goals grew, and our relationship blossomed. For Tom, such goals and aspirations include graduating from law school and becoming an attorney (he will graduate shortly before our wedding from Valparaiso University School of Law), raising a family, and discovering pirate treasure. Similarly, Sarah plans on graduating from Valparaiso University with her bachlors degree in Nursing and Theology. Following graduation, Sarah would like to get a Nurse Practitioner's degree. Sarah is unsure of whether there is any pirate treasure to be found in Indiana, but generally humors Tom's ideas.
One other such mutual interest we discovered that we shared in the summer of 2006, when we first traveled to the Walt Disney World Resort together. We each immediately realized that the other loved the Resort, and that first trip sparked what can only be termed a mutual obsession with all things Disney that would ultimately culminate in our proposal on the beach of the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World. We have visited the Florida Disney park together eight times, with several more trips in the planning stages, including our honeymoon. Our aspiration of raising a family together became a reality in late 2007, when we got our first child together. Yossarian the kitten wandered to our door in the midst of winter in search of food, warmth, and love. Sarah immediately fell in love, Tom immediately called the animal shelter. After much persuading, Sarah convinced Tom to keep Yossarian, and since that time, he has become our best and favorite son, and probably the smartest cat ever to walk the earth. In October 2008, we added Walter Dogsney to our family. We are currently enrolled in desperately needed training classes with Walter, who is slowly but surely learning to become an obedient child. Right now, we couldn't be happier as a family.
Our wedding begins a whirlwind summer for us in 2010. Following our wedding in June, we will honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort, and possibly aboard the Disney Cruise Line. Upon returning from the honeymoon, Tom will study for the bar exam and Sarah will study for her nursing boards. At the same time, we will be in the process of packing up the (too many) possessions we've acquired in (too many) years of college, and move to Indianapolis. There, we will begin our careers, and the next chapter of our lives together.
